AUCKLAND RACES

MANAWATU CLUB

HOLIDAY MEETING LIST of acceptances FIELD OF 17 IN CUP Final payments for the classic races at the Auckland Racing Club’s Summer Meeting, to be held at Ellerslie on December 26 and 28, and January 1 and 2, and acceptances for the handicap events on the first day, closed yesterday. The various races have all filled well, and there are 17 in both the Auckland Cup and the Railway Handicap. The most notable defection from the Auckland Cup was Beaupartir, who has been one of the favourites, and reported through the week as a doubtful starter. The Robinson Handicap has attracted 35 acceptors, and provision will be made to run it in two divisions. If the divisions are necessary, the stake will be increased to £SOO, the winner of each division to receive £2OO, second £35 and third £ls.
