Mammal Identified
At first believed to be the carcase ! of a killer whale which had been reported in the gulf, the mammal which was stranded and later died on a mud bank near Point Chevalier. Auckland, this week was identified by experts yesterday as a species of blackfish. The killer whale and the blackfish are stated to be closely related, and to possess marked similarities.
