URUGUAYAN CABINET’S DECISION
INTERNMENT THE ALTERNATIVE GERMAN CONCENTRATION REPORTED (United Press Assn.—F.lec. Tel. Copyright) (Received Dec. 16, 12.30 p.m.) MONTREAL, Dec 15 The Montevideo correspondent of the United Press says that Uruguay has warned the commander of the Admiral Graf Spee that the warship must leave Montevideo within 72 hours or be interned. The order followed a meeting of the Cabinet. From several sources, it is declared, but not confirmed, that German warships, and possibly submarines, are assembling to meet the waiting cruisers in combat. They add that German prestige will not permit the internment of the Admiral Graf Spee. LONDON, Dec. 15 Four members of H.M.S. Achilles’ complement were killed and three wounded. The killed include:—-Able-Seaman A. C. H. Shaw, of Rotorua. Seaman I. W. Grant, of Dunedin. Seriously injured:— Able-Seaman E. V. Sherley, of Te Awamutu. Able-Seaman L. C. Martinson, of Auckland. Only the captain and four other officers of the Doric Star were aboard the Admiral Graf Spee. Members of the crew were placed aboard other enemy ships, and are still missing.
