GLEN MASSEY NEWS

MISS C. E. BOWEN HONOURED A jolly party was held recently at the home oi Mrs W. J. Foster, Punga Flats, when the friends of Miss Cis Bowen gathered to tender her a gift afternoon in honour of her approacning marriage. During the afternoon competitions were held and won l.w Miss C. Bowen. Afternoon tea was served after which Mrs Foster asked Miss Bowen to accept the numerous gifts. Miss Bowen suitably replied. The guest-of-honour was wearing a navy floral frock and navy accessories. Among those present were:—Mesdames J. Foster, H Brunskill, C. C. Rutter, Copeland (Auckland), A. Brockett, L. Donaldson. J. Bowen, A Bennett, G. Bull. Misses M. Brockett, B. Bowen, E. Fowler, J. Rutter. K. Foster. GIFT EVENING A Dleasant evening was held in the Glen Massey Hall recently in honour of Miss C. E. Bowen and Mr A. Macßury whose marriage takes place shortly. The large number of presents testified to the popularity of the guests-of-honour, both of whom have been in the district for some time. Music was supplied by Mr .1 Spencer and Mr G. Puck. On behalf of those present Mr W Lang asked Mr Macßury and Miss Bowen to accept the large array of parcels. Mr Macßury suitably replied.
