MATAMATA CLUB The Matamata Club’s debut with its summer picnic tournaments experienced most unfavourable weather, but nevertheless there was the splendid muster of 80 men and 20 women to brave the elements. The tournament was unorthodox by comparison with the usual tournaments, while trophies presented were in the nature of Christmas novelties such as turkeys, hams, fowls, lambs, etc. At the conclusion of play, the club president, Mr Little, made the presentations and thanked the numerous visitors for their attendance.
