PETER PAN’S LETTER

E ])EAR GIRLS AND BOYS, = Another nine days and then, Hey Presto for jolly Christ- ~ ~ mas parcels with gay covers and silver strings and lovely Christmas E z dinners. The Twins and the Circle People have finished the very •*; E last of their Christmas shopping and now everything has been 5 z packed away and there is not a sign of a parcel of any description. S = The Sunshine Girl and the Twins have been very busy decorating E E room s and now there are festoons of silver and scarlet paper E = everywhere and they seem to rival even the shops with their lovely E E Christmassy feeling. Such lovely bustling places the shops seem E s to be too and as Peter writes this letter to you, through his open ~ E window he can hear the busy scamper of little people as they hurry E = along looking for mummy’s gift or a lovely present for daddy. = E And now the Holiday Ship is once more ready to cast aside the E :z moorings which have held her to the shores of Happy School Days 5S E for so many weeks past and it won’t be very long before her happy E z cargo will be a-sail on the blue seas of Adventures. So many, = E many, things lie over that blue horizon, don’t they little people? E z and Peter hopes that there will be clear blue skies and calm seas E E ahead for each and every one of you. E = The mail bag doesn’t seem to be very pleased about the Holiday E = Ship though for he is thinking of all the weary weeks he will have E E when there will be no fat, newsy letters arriving and no jolly tales E 5 of adventures will be poking their fingers into the Circle Rooms. E z But Peter hopes that you won’t forget the Circle altogether little z E people and he is hoping that there will be teeny-weeny (as Jenne . E = calls them) letters now and again. ]= And now just a scrap of garden news, for there are so many E E Christmassy perfumes to be found wafted by on the wings of the E = Wind Child, aren’t there ? Firstly there are masses of deep purple E = and palest mauve iris blooming around a lily pond and reflecting E E their satiny petals in the warm, clear water. Then there are tiny E scraps of waxen flowers on the lemon tree and Peter loves the per- E z fume which is scattered on the air after a visit from Mr Rain. Gold E = an< * Purple pansies are still blooming in Peter’s garden and he is E Z hoping that they will be blooming for lots more weeks yet. E z And now, lots and lots of love to you all with hopes for the E E jolliest Christmas week to each and every one of you. E = From your own E iiiiiimmiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii ( iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiuT
