Mrs E. G. Rollo and Miss M. Rollo visited Auckland for speech day at King’s College.

Mrs C. L. French, Matangi, has returned from a holiday spent in Auckland.

Mrs J. Shaw, “Wartle,” Matangi, has returned home after spending a holiday in Stratford.

The resignations of Nurses N. Z. Walter, T. Maaka, L. White and M. M. Money were received by the Waikato Hospital Board on Thursday.

Miss A. Atkinson, of the Fairfield school staff, left last night to spend the holidays in Auckland.

Mrs J. W. Ebbett, Hamilton, has left to visit her mother, Mrs R. Emett, New Plymouth.

Mrs Geoffrey Bacon, of Auckland, is spending a few days in Hamilton after a holiday in Wellington.

Mrs M. Morton and Mrs L. Walsh, Auckland, are visiting Mrs Hugh Morton, Hamilton.

Miss Ina Grocott, Hamilton, sails for Canada shortly, where her marriage is to take place.

Misses Molly and Peggie Iggulden, Hamilton, are spending the weekend in Auckland.

Mrs A. H. Malcolm, Hamilton, is spending the school vacation in Timaru.

Mrs N. Perry, Bruntwood, accompanied by Mrs Perry, senr., Auckland, has returned from a visit to New Plymouth.

Mrs J. W. Whelan was a visitor to Auckland for the break-up ceremony at St. James’ Free Kindergarten School.

Mesdames John Knight and J. Richardson, Whangarei, are visiting Hamilton for the Storey-Gibson wedding and are staying at the Almadale Hptel.

Mrs R. Evans, Hamilton, who has been spending a week in Auckland, returns to Hamilton during the week-end.

The committee and stall holders at the St. John’s Methodist Church flower show were Mesdames Storry, Jones, Watkins, E. J. Watkins, Marsh, McKinnon, Young, J. Hawkins, F. Hawkins, King, Misses J. Watkins, V. Watkins and M. Watkins.

Miss Mary Rawiinson was hostess recently at a gift afternoon at H. & J. Courts Tearooms, for Miss Eileen Jordan, whose marriage shortly takes place. The guests were Mrs J. O’Leary and Misses Kath Jordan, Pat Jenkinson, Eileen Wright and Bobbie Chitty. -

Bowls of gladioli and irises decorated the rooms when Miss Dorothy Stranger, whose marriage takes place shortly, was the guest-of-honour at a “green bathroom” gift afternoon given recently by Miss Patty Blake at her home, in Boundary Road. Those present were:—Mrs T. A. Blake, Mrs Don Coventry and Mrs Doug. Pountney and Misses Betty Clarke, Chris Farrer, Annette Gillies, Muriel House, Bid Farrer, Edna House, Pat Farrer, Natalie Hooker, Estelle Miller, Noeline Peterson, Leonie Swarbrick, Sheila D’arcy Smith and Del Yule. CAMBRIDGE Mrs Bruce Muir, who has returned from a trip to England paid a brief visit to Cambridge. Her sister, Miss P. Ferguson, of “Kelvin,” has accompanied her to her home in Gisborne.

Miss Phyllis Vosper and Miss Mildred Horne, who are students at the “Swords Club” in Sydney arrived by the Monterey to spend their vacation at their homes in Cambridge.

Mrs L. Boagley has returned from a visit to Auckland.

Mrs S. Lewis and Miss Lynsie Lewis have left for their residence at Narrow Neck.

Miss Heather Andrews, who has completed her training at the Auckland Teachers’ Training College has returned to her home at Cambridge. Mrs W. P. Brennan has returned to Otahuhu after visiting her daughter, Mrs V. C. Hollis.

Miss Phyllis Nelson has returned to her home at Roto-o-rangi after completing her training at the Auckland Teachers’ Training College.

Mrs Stanley Haines has returned from a holiday in Napier. Mrs W. McK. Jeffery is visiting her daughter, Mrs J. Bissett, of St. Helier’s Bay. * * * * Members of the committee of the sub-branch of the Red Cross Society at Roto-o-rangi arranged a successful dance in the district hall. The committee who organised the function were:—Mesdames W. N. Robinson, J. W. Wakefield, A. P. Robinson, J. W. Peake, H. Campin, C. Russo, H. Martin, S. Wallis, Misses Margaret Cox and B. Stead.

Albert, is visiting Glen Massey for the MacßuryBowen wedding. Mrs T. P. Taylor, “Homelands,” Mt. Albert, is staying the week-end in Glen Massey for the Macßury-Bowen wedding. Mrs Gerald Bull has returned from Auckland, where she has been the guest of Miss S. E. Jackson, Mrs J. Cumming is staying at Glen Massey for the Macßury-Bowen wedding.
