CHORAL CONCERT 1939 SEASON ENDS (Special to Times) CAMBRIDGE, Thursday The Cambridge Choral Society concluded its 1939 season last evening, when a programme was presented in the Parish Hall. There was a large attendance and the performance was given in the nature of an “at home.” The Cambridge Red Cross will benefit to the extent of nearly £lO. The first half of the programme was devoted to extracts from Handel’s “Messiah.” Several choruses were well rendered, the choir being conducted by Mr S. F. B. Broadhurst. Solos were effectively sung by Mr H. Wood and Mesdames G. G Bell. Colin Wood and J. Linsley. The second half of the entertainment was devoted to Bach’s “Peasant Cantata.” The choruses delighted all present. Solos were given by Mrs M. Massey and Mr G. A. James.
