MR LE FEAUX’S OFFER ~ A YEAR'S SALARY [ GOVERNMENT’S APPECIATION (By Tejeg-raph.—Press Association WELLINGTON, Thursday i The Right Hon. M. J. Savage said t Mr Le Feaux, governor of the Reserve Bank, has intimated to the Government his desire that the last year of his term of office should be ? regarded as a voluntary contribu- : tion to the National War effort and I that his service for that period should \ be without salary if hostilities conItinued until the end of 1940. In expressing appreciation of Mr Le Feaux’s generosity Mr Savage said personally with the Government, he looked forward to a year of cooperative effort between the bank and the Government to overcome the financial difficulties which had been t so much accentuated by the war.
