HUNTLY NEWS AGRICULTURAL GROUP ANNUAL SHOW HELD (Special to Times) HUNTLY, Wednesday. The Lower Waikato Schools’ Agricultural Group held its annual show at the Huntly School grounds on Saturday, about 22 schools competing. The judges were:— Calves: Light breeds, Mr B. Fearon (Hamilton); heavy breeds, Mr Stephenson (Orini). Handwork section: Mrs J. W. Connell (Hamilton) and Mr C. Bailey (Huntly). Ring stewards: Messrs Williams, Comlns, Wight, Thomassen, Holland; chief steward, Mr J. W. Connell, agricultural instructor (Hamilton). Flower section: Messrs F. Meek and H. Baber. Vegetables: Messsr F. Wilkinson and M. Shepherd (of the Huntly Horticultural Mr M. J. O’Brien, or the Klmlhia School, was the show organiser. Mr C. Bailey’s gold medal was won by
Colin Sutherland (Netherby) for the champion cair, while Mrs c. Bailey’s silver inedal for reserve champion calf was won by Olga Petherlek (Pukekapla). Netherby School won the points shield and Pukekapia School won the Hon. W. Lee Martin’s cup for the best group. The Todd Cup for aggregate points in the garden section was won by Netherby.
