POLICE SOCIAL CLUB

HAPPY FLANNEL DANCE A very happy time was spent recently when the women’s branch of the Police Social Club held the final flannel dance of the season, which was a most successful function. Balloons and squeakers added to the merriment, and novelty dances were thoroughly enjoyed. The music was supplied by Mrs Flyger, and the duties of master of ceremonies were capably carried out by Detective A. J. White. During the evening solos were sung by Miss Campbell which were very much appreciated. A delicious supper was served by the ladies’ committee. Among those present were:—Mesdames G. H. Lambert, black georgette and lace; A. J. White, black floral ninon; T. Doole, blue floral marocain; A. A. Gudsell, navy floral blistered satin; A. Vallentine, white marocain with floral coatee; H. Huntley, black satin with white relief; C. Clifford, black georgette with silver motifs; Mathis, honey floral satin; C. Carson, lemon floral ninon; Green, white floral satin; Herdigen, multi-colour-ed striped sheer; Ray Henry, teal blue hand-painted georgette; K. Munroe, powder blue hand-worked silk: G. Tait, white silk pique; McGrail, honey coloured floral satin. Misses Campbell, black satin beaute; Munroe, navy floral dirndl; Herdigen, green and clover floral silk; Jackson, red printed dirndl: Brewer, white floral satin; Gwen McDonald, navy sheer; Betty Lambert, Eau de Nil maltessa, with green angora coatee; Sweeney, multi-coloured floral silk; Kath Huntley, honeycoloured silk crepe; McCabe, blue and red patterned dirndl.
