Mr S. Wakeman, of the telephone exchange staff, Napier, has received notice of his transfer to Ohaupo.
The Rev. Geo. Budd, ol Devonport, formerly director of missions of the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand, was in Hamilton to-day.
Mr Harold Gatty, representative in New Zealand for Pan American Airways, left for Suva by the Monterey last night. He was accompanied by Mrs Gatty.
The Rev. G. H. McNeur, founder of the Canton Mission of the New Zealand Presbyterian Church, and Mrs McNeur are to leave Canton early next month on their way back to New Zealand.
Rabbi J. Danglow, of St. Kilda, Melbourne, arrived at Auckland yesterday by the Monterey on a holiday visit to New Zealand. He was accompanied by his wife.
Major-General Sir William Sin-clair-Burgess, formerly General Officer Commanding the New Zealand Military Forces, passed through Frankton last evening on the Wellington express.
Mr W. Goodfellow, managing director of Amalgamated Dairies Limited, was a passenger from Auckland by the Monterey last night for Los Angeles. He will later proceed to England on a business visit. Staff Sergeant-Major Dunlevy, of Auckland, has been appointed Warrant Officer in Charge of the Bryant Home, Raglan, which is a convalescent home for troops of the Special New Zealand Military Forces, lie will arrive at tne Home tomorrow. Messrs N. H. Dew, L. J. S. Gribb, A. E. Wyatt, R. Brooae Taylor, J. W. Kealy (Auckland), N. N. Hill*, A. S. White, G. E. Watson (Wellington), J. L. G. Mills (i\ew r Plymouth), J. Dean (Pokeno) and G. H. Stace (Blenheim), are at the Hamilton Hotel. Dr. Chaim Wardi, of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, m visiting New Zealand with credentials from the Government ol Palestine, at the instance of the board of governors of the University of Jerusalem, te establish relations with scientific institutions here and to interest Jewish circles in the development of the university. Dr. Wardi is lecturer in Italian and the history of Italian civilisation.
