TURKEY AND PEACE
SIGNING OF THE PACT OPENED A NEW ERA (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) ANKARA, November 8 The British-French-Turkish Pact has been ratified by the Assembly and signed. M. Saracoglu, addressing the Assembly, said the Tripartite Pact with England and France wks the turning point of utmost importance in the world history, and would make the peace efforts of the signatories more effective and fruitful. It would inaugurate a truthful and happy era in Turkey in the political and military, as well as social and economic, spheres. It is reliably stated that M. Saracoglu privately assured the deputies that Turkey will continue to resist the Soviet demand to restrict the Black Sea and Dardanelles to foreign warships. The Government has decided to demobilise those called up and also the reservists.
