Raglan Harbour Returns
Returns for the Raglan Harbour for the year ended September 30 showed that approximately 1000 tons less goods had been handled this year than last, said Mr G. BrownleeSmith, clerk of the Raglan County Council, at a meeting of the council to-day. The respective figures were 3520 tons and 4448 tons. “It looks as if the amount will continue to drop,” he said. Early Days in Taranaki Early days in the history of New Plymouth have been recalled by interesting relics found at Mikotahi Sugarloaf. at the port of New Plymouth. They are a cannon ball and two hammers off old flintlock guns, and were found buried on top of the rock near the harbour beacon. Little bigger than a cricket ball and weighing nearly 231 b, the cannon ball fits a small cannon that now rests outside the New Plymouth Public Library- The flintlock hammers belonged to separate guns, for both are from the same side.
