CONDITION OF ROAD
ACCESS TO MCDONALD MINE WORK BEING DONE BY COUNTY (Times Special Reporter) NGARUAWAHIA, Wednesday The condition of the access road to the McDonald mine at Glen Afton, over which trouble arose resulting in the men going out on strike on October 31, has been considerably improved, and it will be in good order shortly, according to a statement made at the monthly meeting of the Raglan County Council today by the engineer, Mr K. M. Wright. At the meeting the council accepted dedication of the road and agreed to do the work necessary to put it in order.
It was mentioned by the clerk, Mr G. Brownlee-Smith, that the mine company had guaranteed that workings would be maintained in such a way that the road foundation would not be affected.
