STRIKE OF ENGINEERS AUSTRALIAN MINE DISPUTE (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyrlg-nt) SYDNEY, Nov. 8 A conference of delegates from the combined mining unions carried a motion directing all engineers who are on strike on the northern coalfields to return to work immediately, “pending completion of negotiations.” This direction is <*xpected to be confirmed by the Commonwealth Council of the Amalgamated Engineering Union when it meets this week.

The unions’ conference decided to request the Prime Minister, Mr Menzies, to intervene in the dispute over hours, which caused the strike.
