OLD AGE PENSIONS
REJECTION OF SCHEME ELECTIONS IN AMERICA (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Cooyriynt) NEW YORK, Nov. 7 In connection with the State municipal elections to-day a special poll was taken in Ohio on the scheme to provide pensions of 50 dollars a month to those over 60. The returns to hand indicate that the plan has been rejected by a majority of three to one. The sponsors say they will continue the fight. Scattered returns from California show that the pension scheme in that State to provide unemployed persons over 50 with 130 dollars a month is opposed by a majority of more than two to one.
In the Kentucky election for Governor, Mr Keen Johnson (Democrat) is leading by a two to one majority and apparently is elected.
