GAME OF BOWLS

PROGRESS IN HAMILTON WAIKATO COMMITTEE MEETS There was a large attendance at the annual meeting of the Waikato Bowling Committee when the president, Mr R. E. Conradi, presided. A sound position of the finances of the committee was indicated by the balance sheet, and the success of last season was reviewed in the annual report. The interest in the two challenge shields was greater than ever, said the report, the number of challenges proving a record. Some very keenly contested games were seen, the ultimate winners being in doubt to the last game. Claudelands, by winning both shields, put up a fine performance, although a play-off with the Hamilton club in the rinks shield was necessary. The Jacob Wright Cup was won by Mr J. Morris, of the Whitiora club. Election of Officers The following were the officers elected:—President, Mr R. E. Conradi; vice-president, Mr A. Wheeler; secretary and treasurer, Mr P. Johnson; committee, Messrs F. Booth, A. Webber, E. R. Smith, H. A. Judge and W. A. Forsythe; auditor, Mr T. B. Lendrum.

In connection with the Waikato challenge shields it was decided to present a framed certificate to the winning clubs each year from the commencement of the new shields.
