ANOTHER SMASH

SEDDON ROAD CROSSING ENGINE AND CAR COLLIDE There was another level crossing smash at the Seddon Road railway crossing late yesterday afternoon when a motor car, driven by Mr Leonard Waugh, aged 27, single, of Frankton, struck a shunt engine travelling from Frankton to Hamilton. This was the second smash at the crossing in less than a fortnight and the fifth in about six months. Mr Waugh, who is a piumoer by occupation, was the only occupant of the car in the smash yesterday, and he was fortunate enough to escape with head injuries. He was taken to the Waikato Hospital in a St. John Ambulance and his condition today is reported to be satisfactory. The car was wrecked. As a result of the accident at this crossing on October 27, Mr Thomas Hughes, aged 50, a builder, of Frankton, received injuries- from which he died a week ago today.
