FRANKTON YARDING LOAN AND MERCANTILE The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited (Incorporated in England), reports at their Frankton stock sale yesterday a good yarding of both ox and cow beef and a fairly large entry of boner cows. Prices in the beef section showed a further decline on last week, but boner cattle maintained a very firm demand. They quote:— Prime ox beef, £lO 17s 6d to £ll 2s 6d; lighter, £lO to £lO 10s; prime cow beef, £8 to £8 15s; prime Jersey fat cows, £5 to £5 15s; prime Jersey heifers, £5 to £5 ss; light runners, to £3 6s; small vealers. 9s 6d to 13s; heavy boner cows, £3 14s to £4 2s; medium, £3 to £3 8s; empty twoyear Jersey heifers, £3 to £3 7s 6d. Forward conditioned three-year steers, mixed breeds, £8 ss; twoyear Polled Angus steers, £6 to £6 13s; smaller, £5 10s to £5 15s: twoyear Hereford steers. £6 5s to £6 10s; medium, £5 9s to £5 14s; smaller, £4 15s to £4 19s: small two-year Shorthorn steers, £5; yearling Polled Angus steers, £3 17s; smaller. £2 17s ! to £3 Is; yearling Shorthorn Here- ; ford cross steers, £3 10s; yearling ! Hereford heifers, £3 to £3 6s; smal- ! ler, £2 16s: yearling Jersey heifers, | running with bull, £5 6s; small. £3 I 15s; springing Jersey heifers, indifferent sorts, £5 to £5 15s: two-year Jersey bulls. £8: two-year Shorthorn bulls, £8 8s; yearling Shorthorn bulls, sff gns. to 7 gns. 1 Sheep.—Another heavy yarding ! of sheep was offered at the sale and , prices as a result decreased still * further on previous markets. Yen-
dors, however, met the market, and a complete clearance was effected to a large bench of buyers. Quotations: Prime fat shorn wethers. 24s to 25s 9d: heavy fat shorn wethers, 22s to 23s 3d; medium fat shorn wethers, 13s to 20s; Medium fat hoggets, 20s to 21s 6d; heavy fat ewes, 15s 3d to 16s 6d: medium fat ewes, 14s to 14s 6d; lighter fat ewes. 12s to 13s; best fat lambs, 20s to 21s 6d; store ewe hoggets, 22s to 23s 6d. Pigs.—There was a heavier yarding of bacon, heavy baconers meeting with a steady sale and values remaining on a par with last week's. Pork was easier later on in the sale. A large yarding of stores was. offered. Large stores were in good demand at late rates, while weaners were easier. Quotations.—Prime baconers, to 3s; heavy baconers, £3 17s to £4; medium, £3 10s to £3 15s; light, £3 6s to £3 9s: heavy porkers, £2 14s to £2 18s: medium, £2 8s to £2 12s; large stores, £2 to £2 ss; medium, 35s to 38s; slips, 26s to 31s; weaners, 12s to 225.
