Lime In Canterbury
A number of property owners in North Canterbury nave secured analysis of the lime deposits on their holdings with a view to utilising them by means of the portable crusher. The results of the testa are likely to give liming a still greater impetus (says the Christchurch Press). On six properties the analysis range from 86 to 94 per cent of lime, a very satisfactory percentage. Many properties in the northern part of the province, the liming of which is economically impossible from outside on account of transport costs, are likely to benefit through advantage being taken of the portable crushing system.
In Kruger National Park. South Africa, a large notice nonchalantly states; “Watch out for lions”.' Although the beasts do not attack travellers, they prove a danger to motor cars, as they seldom move when a car approaches them, and the driver is forced to detour.
