MAKING A NEW HOME DEPARTURE FOR GDYNIA COMPULSORY LABOUR SERVICE (United Press Assn.— Elec. Tel. Copyright) RIGA, Nov. 5 The first shipload of Latvian Germans, as distinct from Reich Germans, have sailed for Gdynia on board the Norddeutscher Lloyd liner Steuben, on which 2856 passengers have been crammed into accommodation intended for 1800. The vessel started yesterday but ran aground. She was towed off today. Five thousand have changed their allegiance and their transportation is proceeding rapidly. All males between 20 and 26 years have been summoned for compulsory labour service, the voluntary system having failed. All doctors and lawyers under 60 and nurses under 49 have been called up.
