SOCIAL AND DANCE TE RO OPU AWHINA O TUPA A successful social and dance was held in aid of the Parawera Native Hall funds recently in the Parawera j Hall. The organisers were the ladies of the Te ro opu Awhina O Tupa • and Mesdames A. Bryant and Lidi dington, of Orakau. I The social opened with a welcome to visitors and members, and items | were contributed by the following:— ! Parawera Maori girls, action songs; Miss Rebecca Mauriohooho, poi dance. Competition winners were as follows:—Mrs Tahi Onehi, Mr S. Duggan, Mr A. Liddington, Mrs Poria. Before the evening terminated the ! president made special reference, and 1 a vote of thanks was passed, to Mesj dames A. Bryant and Liddington for their work and whole-hearted supj PortAnnual Meeting The Te ro opu Awhina O Tupa held its annual meeting in the Parawera Native Hall recently, there being a good attendance. The president, Mrs Umu McLean, presided. The president commented on the work done through out the year and thanked all members for their loyal support and co-operation. Mrs Rachel Ohomairangi was in charge of the sales table where good busi- | ness was done. Monthly Meeting The monthly meeting of the Te ro opu Awhina O Tupa was held in the Parawera Native Hall recently. There was a good attendance, over which Mrs Umu McLean presided. The president opened the meeting by extending greetings and a welcome to the visitors and members. Sister Evelyn gave a Bible reading. Nurses Mandeno and Flamank, of Te Awamutu, were present and Nurse Flamank gave an interesting talk on medicine. Votes of thanks were accorded Nurses Mandeno and Flamank, and Sister Evelyn.
