TE AWAMUTU RED CROSS
SUCCESSFUL FUNCTIONS The president, Mrs C. G. Downes, was in the chair at a meeting of the Te Awamutu Red Cross Society, held recently. Others present were: Mesdames H. C. Rainey, J. G. Wynyard, J. F. Brooks, H. A. Swarbrick, J. Parr, J. B. Muir, C. W. Rickit, H. G. Connal, S. C. Macky, J. Oliphant, H. J. Webber, J. C. Montefiore, A. G. Warburton, J. P. O’Sullivan, and R. C. Judd, and Misses Bockett and Reilly. Apologies were received from Mesdames C. Rae, A. H. Woods, D. Bockett and L. G. Armstrong. Reports on the work of sub-com-mittees were given by the conveners. The Paddy’s Market held recently, and last month’s card party were successful. Arrangements were reported lo be well in hand for a musical recital and a children’s concert. Offers were received from the Women’s Institute and the Catholic Women’s League to help with the street stalls which will be held ! monthly. They were accepted with appreciation. | It was reported that the weekly | home nursing classes were being en- | thusiastically supported and much ' progress was being made.
