DELAY IN MILKING

POWER SERVICE FAILS SMALL FAULT AT ARAPUNI Milking on Waikato farms was interrupted yesterday afternoon at 4.33 p.m., when every electrical service between Arapuni and North Auckland was cut off for 11 minutes. The fault occurred in one of the main line oil switches in the power station. Little inconvenience was experienced in the town, as the fault occurred at a time when little power was being used in Hamilton. The failure in the oil circuit breaker, which the authorities stated was probably due to a bushing, caused a series of relay switches to throw out, in performance of their proper function. It took a few minutes for the staff to locate the trouble and isolate the affected section. An auxiliary circuit was immediately employed, and to all intents and purposes everything was normal within 11 minutes, although the broken switch was not repaired until today.
