KING COUNTRY SALES Messrs. Abraham and Williams (Te Kultl) report:— Otorohangs At our Otorohang-a sale on November l we bad a small yarding or sheep and a Tull yarding of cattle and pigs. Sheep were in demand and sold very well. Fat cows met a rather easier market, boner cows sold, but steers were not sought arter, the bulk or the entry or this class being passed. Yearling Jersey heifers did not reach the high levels or recent sales. The small yarding or dairy cows and heifers did not represent good quality and sold accordingly. pigs sold particularly well. Quotations. —Small two-tooth ewes, in wool, 19s; fairly good woolly forwardconditioned Jersey cows, £1 to £i 17s; best boner cows. £3, £3 5 s to £3 14 s; lighter, £2 10s to £3; thin cows. £1 15s to £ 2 ; rough two-year steers, £1 to £1 15s; two-year Shorthorn heifers. £i to £1 10s; small yearling Jersey heifers, £3 to £4 4s; potter bulls, to £5 10. Pigs were firm at late rates. Sows with litters realised £3 9s to £4 10s; Tor plain sorts, light porkers, £2 14s to £2 15s; good stores, 3.5 s to 39s fid; good weaners, 25s to 270 6d; smaller, 19s to 2os fid Pio Pio At the Pio Pio sale on November 2. sheep came forward in excess of advertised numbers, the bulk or the entry consisting or shorn two-tooth wethers. There was a good attendance, but bidding was not brisk though we effected a total clearance at sciisractory rates. The top price was made by a good line or 522 on account or Mr C. S. Taylor, which sold to the Native Department at 17s 4d; other good lines made 15s, 15s 6d, 15s 10d to 16s; small shorn two-tooth ewes made 17s 9d to 20s; woolly two-tooth ewes, 24s 6d and woolly two-tooth wethers, 17s; goodconditioned shorn Southdown two-tooths, 15s lOd to 16s; small two-tooths made 11s to 13s Gd; culls, 8s; light fat ewes made 15S. Very few cattle were ofTered. Medium two-year Jersey heirers (springing) made £5 15s; backward sorts, £i ss. PAEROA YARDING G. W. Vercoe & Company, Limited, report having held their Tortnightly sale at Paeroa. There was a moderate yarfling, prices being on a par with those at other centres. A small yarding or dairy cattle met with rair competition. Quotations: — Sheep.—Woolly wethers, to 2ls; smaller sorts, to 18s. Light prime shorn wethers sold to 225. Pigs.—Prime baconers, £3 11s to £3 17s; light prime baconers, £3 4s to £3 1 Os; heavy porkers, to £3; Tamworth cross sows In pig, to £4; Tamworth cross sows, lighter-conditioned, to £3; others, to £2. Cattle.—Medium fat cows, £5 to £6 17s; lighter fat cows. £4 to £4 lls; heavy boners sola from £3 10s to £4; lighter conditioned, from £2 15s to £3 ss; Inferior sorts, to £2. In the store cattle section an attractive line of yearling Jersey heifers realised £4 12s. Other yearling heirers sold rrom £3 10s to £4; small Holstein cross heifers, to £3 10s.
