“A RUNAWAY GIRL”
SEASON ENDS TO-NIGHT BRIGHT MUSICAL COMEDY “A Runaway Girl,” which has been entertaining large audiences all the week, will be presented at a matinee this afternoon, and the final performance will be given to-night. There should be a “full house” to say goodbye to the talented members of the Hamilton Operatic Society, whose fine work deserves well of the community. Last night the tuneful and merry' musical comedy went with a swing, and gave great pleasure to the audience. Owing to the sudden illness ol Mr Stanley Carroll, the part of Signor Paloni was taken by Mr John Dowell, who gave a good account ol himself, and Mr Jock Chu*ton lead the girls in the dance number, “You Know What I Mean,” in snappy style. Mr Carroll has now recovered and will resume his part this afternoon. Principals. chorus. ballet and orchestra, with Mrs E. M. Mcßeath as producer and Mr Stanley James as music director, worked bard to achieve success. It is hoped to make to-night’s final performance a gala one.
