HAMILTON CONGRATULATED SIR ERNEST DAVIS’ REMARKS Congratulations to Hamilton on its block of municipal buildings were extended by the Mayor of Auckland, Sir Ernest Davis, when speaking at a meeting of the Auckland Provincial Patriotic Council in the Hamilton Borough chambers last night. “ I wish to congratulate the municipality of Hamilton on its fine block of municipal buildings,” said Sir Ernest. “ The block is certainly worthy of a fine city like Hamilton, and I wish the thank the Mayor and corporation of Hamilton for the use of the boroqgh chambers for this meeting.” Following the meeting the visitors were conducted through the municipal buildings by the Mayor, tdr H. D. Caro, and expressed themselves as pleased with the appointments throughout. Sir Ernest described the building as among the best equipped of its kind in New Zealand, and stated that Auckland would be proud to possess it. He was particularly pleased with the system of panel heating, and stated that he would make inquiries in Auckland with a view to having a similar system installed in the City Chambers. Several of the visitors also remarked on the busy appearance of Victoria Street in the early part of the evening.
