Troop ramps, now ihat the Jamboree Is off, should jjj* a indulged in by every troops this Christ - Happy trails. —HAMUTANA THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK “ Writ* me then as on* who love* his fellowmen.” COMING EVENTS Southern Cross seventh birthday party at First Church Scout Hall, King Street, on .November 25, at 6.15 p.m. sharp. Combined Scout and Guides Concert, Taupirl Town Hall, .November 18, at 8 p.m. SOUTHERN CROBS TROOP Another successful Scouting evening has been held since our last notes appeared in print. As usual, our meeting opened with flag-break and Inspection, the latter being excellent. We then marched down to the Winter Show Hall to hear a talk by Mr Holmes on astronomy, which proved to be most interesting. We wish to thank St. George’s ror an invitation to their bonfire, and we are looking forward to it eagerly. We are also looking forward to our birthday party in a few weeks’ time, and as each patrol has been told to hunt up some new stunts, we ought to have a good programme to present.
* BY "SILVER WOLF”) TAUPIRI GROW Our last meeting was held on Wednesday night when we had a very enjoyable evening. ' The membership of the troop is now J 1 and new members were given their first leaaene on the Tenderfoot rebeaj>aJs for the combined Scout and Guide concert are continuing, and It seems sure to be an outstanding success. We iesue a cordial invitation to ail Interested to come along to this concert. We are also planning an excursion for the coining Sunday, and details of this will appear in our next report. Cheerio. ST. GEORGE’S GROUP We welcomed our new skipper and AS M. on Monday night, and bope they will enjoy their stay with us. Mr Lewis introduced “ Skipper ” to us. arter which we continued with patrol work, followed by a few games, and the evening con eluded with prayers. We are all looking forward to our bonfire on Saturday night, and by the time these notes are In print, we will know bow the camp fire ha* gone off. HAMUTARA ROVER CREW We are definitely putting the “ out ” In Scouting these week-end. and every week end sees a band of us conquering new fields and exploring new spots. Despite the losses suffered by the crew, we are still maintaining our usual progressive policy. We have had a few new mem bers, .and to them we extend a hearty welcome and know that they will enjoy themselves with us. Our social activities are still in full swing with the prospect of our birthday party in the near future. The day arter we hope to re-climb Mt Rakapuke, if we have recovered from the efferta of the party, but more anon, so until then, we say “ Kla Ora.”
