HAPPY CZECHS PREMATURE CELEBRATION NEW YORK, Nov. 3 The Paris correspondent of the New York Times says that a premature celebration of Germany’s defeat on the West Front caused rioting at Tabor on October 26. according to Czech sources. Houses were decorated with Czech hags and the streets were filled with celebrating crowds. German signs were destroyed and Hitler’s pictures burnt. Many German soldiers joined in the demonstrations, demolishing the guards’ building and attacking the the Gestapo’s building. All Tabor went drunk with the thought of freedom, and the alarmed Nazis sent Prague Shock Troops to occupy Tabor. Four hundred German soldiers and hundreds of Czechs were arrested. CHILD SEVERELY BURNED WATCHING SCRUB FIRE While he was watching scrub burning, Maurice Gawn, aged 10, son of Mr Frank Gawn, of 7 Seddon Terrace, Frankton, received severe burns to the body when his clothing caught alight this afternoon. Re was given treatment at the St* John Amb.u lance station Vn Ward Streeit and then removed to the Waikato hospital in an ambulance.
