London Revue for Wellington Wellington theatregoers will have the opportunity of seeing for the 'first time in New Zealand the reigning success of the London stage, “The Intimate Revue.” This revue was first* produced in London by C. B. Cochran, and will be produced in Wellington by Raymond Hedges. A strong cast has been assembled, headed by Eileen Miller, Elsa Hannaforth, Marjorie Davis, Norris Smith, Eric de Mauny, Ben White, and John Powell. The ballets, arranged by Marjorie Newport, include a special ballet presentation, “Cinderella.” An opera sequence from “Faust” features Gwen Lewis, operatic soprano.
£400,000 Spent on Film Walter Wanger, who used to manage a cinema in the East End of London, but is now one of the really big men of Hollywood, announces that he means to spend £400,000 on a film version of “Around the World in Eighty Days.” Negotiations are under way with Ronald Colman to play the leading role. Not to be outdone by Wanger. Sam Goldwyn says that he has already spent £400,000 on “The Real Glory.” which is not yet finished, although 450,000 feet of film have been shot. He is Too Big Now Freddie Bartholomew is growing up too quickly. M.-G.-M. have just announced that he will not be able to play the lead as scheduled in the film of Kipling's "Kim.”—He is too big.
