Dearer Meat in South The price of meat will be raised by one penny a pound in Dunedin and suburbs from yesterday. This increase is authorised by the Food Controller and is the outcome of a full investigation of the meat trade in Dunedin by an officer of his department, who made a thorough investigation of conditions and the price of meat ruling in this city. It is represented that the advance iri price that is now being made will not be sufficient to cover continually rising costs at the Burnside market. A further increase in mutton prices watt recorded at Wednesday’s sale*.
