EXCITEMENT IN FINLAND
DISCUSSIONS TO CONTINUE CLAIMS NOT ACCEPTABLE (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) HELSINKI, November 1 The Finnish Foreign Office spokesman, after contacting the Government at the border, said the delegation had decided to continue to Moscow, where they would negotiate until the last hope of reaching a settlement had faded. The delegation desired to avoid the possibility of Russia claiming that Finland disrupted the conversations. Helsinki, for the first time, is really excited. The general opinion is that Moscow’s claims are not acceDtable because Finland’s security is threatened. FINNISH DELEGATION ARRIVAL IN MOSCOW RUSSIA’S DEMAND (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. HELSINKI, November 1 The newspapers point out that the Soviet demand for a fortified island opposite Baltiski at Moutgulf, Finland, would result in Helsinki, Viipuri, and Kotka being under foreign control.
