94th BIRTHDAY
RACING VETERAN (Special to Times) AUCKLAND, Thursday Mr Arthur Selby, the veteran of Auckland racing and hunting, will celebrate his 94th birthday on Monday. Mr Selby continues to enjoy remarkably good health and has lost none of his life-long interest in sport. He is a keen bowler and enjoys a game at Howick on fine week-ends. He finds a slight difficulty in bending to pick up the bowls occasionally, but assistance is given him in that direction by his team mates. For 36 years Mr Selby was clerk of the course for the Auckland Racing Club and for 22 years huntsman with the Pakuranga hounds. Mr Selby intends to hold a reunion of members of his family and an “At Home” at his residence, Uxbridge Street, Howick, on Saturday, when he expects to meet many of his old hunting and racing friends.
