ASSAULTED AND ROBBED

WAR PENSIONER’S ORDEAL (Special to Times) AUCKLAND, Friday Mr Hugh Twidle, aged 47, a war pensioner, was assaulted and robbed near the Kauri Timber Company’s premises in Fanshaw Street last evening and was left lying on the ground, where he was discovered by the nightwatchman. Mr Twidle was suffering from an injured eye and face abrasions, but his condition is not serious. The assailants have not been traced.
