VIEWS OF DISTRICT COUNCIL (Special lo Times) TAURANGA, Thursday The Western Bay of Plenty district council of primary production elected Mr D. S. Ross, of Te Puke, chairman and Mr A. J. Alio secretary. While anxious to increase production this meeting recommended to the Primary Production Council that it should insist that the price to producers should be equal to their costs and enable them to pay competitive rates of wages. It was also urged that the Government be asked to see that farmers were able to get fertilisers as cheaply as possible, and that money voted for non-productive works should be diverted to the payment of sufficient prices for primary production. It was also requested that measures be taken to remove noxious weeds from existing farms by the institution of the gang system, and that each farmer be allowed 25 per cent, of porkers to baconers on a weight basis,
