NAZI PROPAGANDA

ALL RETURNED

ACTIVITIES IN BRITAIN DEFENCE MEASURES RIDICULED SPREADING OF RUMOURS United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright (Received Nov. 2, 11 a.m.) LONDON, Nov. 1 Sir John Anderson, in the House of Commons, said the Government considered the new regulation to put down the activities of pro-Nazi organisations throughout Britain “absolutely essential.” Under the guise of harmless social organisations antiBritish leagues were carrying on war “behind the lines.”

One Nazi organisation ordered members to “turn themselves into rumour-mongers and channels of propaganda.” They were instructed to ridicule Britain’s civil defence measures and foster the idea that evacuation was unnecessary.

“If only this propaganda can be disseminated it will be suggested that people return to London, resulting in the defeat of an important measure in the interests of the civil population.” This organisation is well known to be anti-Jewish and pro-Nazi.

BRITISH PLANES’ FLIGHT PHOTOGRAPHS TAKEN (United Press Assn.—Eloc. Tel. Copyright) (Received Nov. 2, 1.15 p.m.) LONDON, Nov. 1 The Air Ministry announced that the Royal Air Force in the last 24 hours successfully carried out reconnaissance flights over North-western Germany, taking photographs. All returned.
