EDGECOMBE— WELLS

The marriage was quietly celebrated at the home of her parents on the evening of Friday, October 20, between Edna Mary, second daughter of Mr and Mrs C. P. Wells, of River Road, Ngaruawahia, and Herbert Frederick, second son of Mrs V. Smith and the late Mr C. Edgecombe, of Mount Roskill, Auckland. The Rev. A. L. Witheford performed the ceremony. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a smart ensemble of navy and white floral crepe-de-chine, with a white pedaline straw hat. She carried a bouquet of white roses, hyacinths and lily-of-the-val-ley. Miss J. Hewitt attended as bridesmaid, wearing a frock of blush-pink silk marocain with a hat to tone. She carried a bouquet of pink roses and maidenhair fern. The best man was Mr J. Edgecombe. After the ceremony a reception was held, only immediate relatives being present. Mrs Wells received her guests wearing a smart frock of black silk georgette and lace. She carried a posy of anemones. When Mr and Mrs H. F. Edgecombe left by car for the honeymoon, the bride travelled wearing a navy pin-stripe costume with matching accessories. Their future home will be at Ngaruawahia.
