AIR FORCE ACCIDENT
NEW ZEALANDER KILLED PILOT-OFFICER C. CAMERON (By TPlegraph.—Press Association) TIMARU, Tuesday Cabled advice has been received of the death in England of Pilot-Officer Colin Cameron, a son of Mr and Mrs J. E. Cameron, of Timaru. It is understood Pilot-Officer Cameron was killed in an accident involving a Royal Air Force machine. Pilot-Officer Camerons who was 22, was a promising athlete and, before leaving for England, held the South Canterbury mil& and half-mile running titles. He competed in the Canterbury championships in 1938, being second in the mile. In England he represented the Air Force against the Army and Navy, finishing fourth in the mile to the noted English runner Pell.
