WOMEN’S DIVISION
TE AWAMUTU BRANCH The monthly meeting of the Te Awamutu branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union was held in the parish hall recently, when Mrs Wynyard presided over a fair attendance. It was decided to hold a flower show at the November meeting, Mesdames Melville, Ray, Ryburn and Eyre being appointed stewards. An interesting talk on beautiful pictures was given by Mrs J. Treloar, of Hamilton, who also had numerous articles of arts and crafts for sale. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded her.
Mrs Nickleson entertained with pianoforte solos after which tea was served by Pokuru and Te Kawa members. Competitions resulted as follows:—Article from one skein wool. Miss Grigg 1, Miss Erme 2; flower, Mrs Grigg and Mrs A. Kay 1, equal; fruit, Mrs Hinton; vegetable, Mrs Grigg; shrub, Mrs Grigg; camera study, Mrs Cullen 1, Mrs Kidd 2, Mrs Finn 3.
