BINGEN CHIEF RETIRED
WON £1195 IN STAKES Bingen Chief, who proved a remunerative proposition for W. E. Cockbill in the 1934-35 season when he won five of the eleven races he contested and was only twice unplaced for prize money totalling £750, has been placed on the retired list. Bingen Chief won his first race as a three-year-old in the 1931-32 season and when acquired by Cockbill at five years started 19 times for three wins, as many seconds and a similar number of thirds. That year he won £340. Following his successful term of 1934-35 Bingen Chief raced disappointingly, earning only £2O the following year—and nothing since. In eight seasons of racing the total earning of Bingen Chief ran into £1195.
