CHESS MATCH

WIN FOR AUCKLAND SOUTH AUCKLAND BEATEN VERY CLOSE CONTEST The annual chess match, between, the combined South Auckland and Auckland Clubs was held at Te Kauwhata and after some very close and interesting games Auckland won by 10 games to 9. Speaking on behalf of the Combined South Auckland Clubs, Mr A. W. Saxby welcomed the visitors and paid a tribute to the sporting manner in which the contest was conducted. The very even nature of the games indicated that the standard of chess in the Waikato was very good. Mr R. E.
