BIBLE DATED 1613
GIFT TO A CHURCH IN FAMILY FOR CENTURIES A copy of the rare second authorised edition of the Holy Bible, dated 1613, has been presented by Mr John Shairp, of Houston, Renfrewshire, to Uphall North Church, West Lothian. The Bible, which has been in the possession of the Shairp family for, centuries, measures 24in. by 18in.,: with a thickness of about 10in., andj is to be placed on a special pedestal in the chancel of the church.
