NGARUAWAHIA CLUB ELECTION OF OFFICERS (Special to Times) NGARUAWAHIA, Friday. The annual meeting- or the Ng-aruawahia Tennis Club was held recently. The president, Mr 11. D. Sampson, presided. Prior t-o opening- the meeting the members stood as a mark or sympathy with Mr H. P. rampson in his recent bereavement. The following officers were elected:— President. Mr A. E. Follett: vice-presid-ents, Messrs A. Pratt, 11. Hill, and Mrs A. Menzies; secretary. Mr R. Sampson; club captain and selector, Mr H. Hill; committee, Mesdames E. Hunter, c. E. Moir, Misses M. Gerring- and K. Wilson, Messrs G. Brownlee-Smith and R. McCarthy; delegates to Lower Waikato Tennis Association, Messrs A. E. Follett and G. BrownleeSmith; auditor. Mr S. j. Webb. It was decided to affiliate with the Lower Waikato Tennis Association for the ensuing year and to combine with the croquet and bowling clubs Tor an official opening on October 7. The subscriptions were fixed at the same as last year. The retiring president, Mr 11. D. Sampson, was elected a lire member of the club, and appreciation of his services to the club during his 28 years’ membership was recorded in the minutes. The following members were appointed a match committee to arrange tournaments: Messrs li. Hill, G. Brownlee-Smith, D. Sampson and A. Menzies.
