NEUTRALITY PLANS
POLICY OF RUSSIA TRADE WITH BRITAIN (Independent Cable) (Received Sept. 30, 1.30 p.m.) LONDON, Sept. 29 Well-informed Soviet circles state that M. Maisky, the Soviet Ambassador in London, assured Lord Halifax on Wednesday that the Soviet intends to maintain its policy of neutrality. He said the Soviet is prepared to accept British proposals and open trade negotiations on the lines of the visit to Moscow by Mr Hudson, Secretary for Overseas Trade. GERMAN BARRIER ACROSS THE NORTH SEA (United Press Assn. —Elec. Tel. Copy right) (Received Sept. 30, 11 a.m.) LONDON, Sept. 29 The Copenhagen correspondent of the American Press says that captains of neutral merchantmen state that Germany has established a submarine and warplane barrier across the North Sea, virtually prohibiting individual ships from sailing.
