Tastefully arranged, the inside of the building is the acme of perfection with every amenity provided to satisfy its patrons. Accommodation is provided for 150. The guest rooms are neatly arranged, have an attractive colour scheme, and provide every comfort required by the weary traveller. Every room is separately supplied with hot and cold water, while plugs are provided for electric razors. Writing facilities are there for the guests. Suites, comprising a bedroom, bath-room and sitting-room, or with two bedrooms and a bathroom between, are available. Otherwise tiled bathrooms are plentiful. Upstairs a lounge is available to vistors and is tastefully decorated in restful colours, while comfortable chairs arc provided. The downstairs lounge is the largest in New Zealand, and is furnished in the most modern style and attractively panelled in French polished walnut. The dining room will seat 150 persons and is attractively panelled. - Tables are available to seat any number, and the table accommodation incorporates the most modern equipment. A specially selected staff of trained waiters and waitresses is provided. KITCHEN EQUIPMENT The kitchen is completely tiled and is conducted in such a manner as to ensure the utmost efficiency. Stainless steel is used throughout. The latest dish-wash-ing unit handles 5000 pieces of crockery an hour and ensures utmost cleanliness. Amongst other up-to-date amenities is an automatic toaster and three refrigerated chambers. Every provision is made for serving hot dishes and meals will be supplied at all hours, while the most modern methods are used to serve the best food obtainable. Every effort has been made by the management to ensure the welfare of the staff, whose quarters are furnished in the same way as those of the guests. A contented staff, it is maintained, will mean willing service. Constructed in reinforced concrete the hotel itself is completely fire-proof. Central heating is installed, also an automatic lift to all floors, indirect lighting, a radio service, a message broadcasting apparatus to all public rooms, and open fireplaces. The building is also floodlit and presents a most attractive appearance at night. Reasonable tariff rates will be maintained. Some of the. most up-to-date shops are incorporated in the structure. Commodious public and private bars are situated in the hotel, which claims to have the best-equipped cellar in New Zealand.
