CREW HANDED OVER
DEMAND BY NAZI DESTROYER MEN OF BRITISH TRAWLER (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) STOCKHOLM, Sept. 28 A German destroyer stopped the Swedish motor-ship Kronprinsessan Margareta off Gottenborg, Sweden, and demanded the delivery of seven members of the crew of the sunken British trawler Caldew, whom the Kronprinsessan Margareta had ; rescued in the North Sea on Tuesday. { The captain had no alternative but to hand the men over, and the destroyer then turned round and steamed away. It is reported in London, says a Daventry broadcast, that the Admiralty states that the Germans were within their rights, according to international law, in demanding from the Swedish captain the crew of the British trawler. The crew would not be prisoners of war, but would be interned.
