Copyright) (Received Sept. 29, 11.0 a.m.) LONDON, Sept. 28 The House of Commons will meet on Tuesday, when Mr Chamberlain will review the general position. Answering Mr C. R. Attlee, leader of the Labour Party, on the changes recently announced in the control of the British Broadcasting Corporation, Mr Chamberlain said they are of two kinds. First, there is the transfer to the Minister of Information of the powers vested in the PostmasterGeneral. Secondly, there has been a reduction in the number of governors from seven to two, in order to ensure smooth and swift operation of the broadcasting system in the war. The provision of such a reduction existed in the charter and in accordance with the agreement reached between the governors and the Government before the outbreak of war. The new arrangements, Mr Chamberlain affirmed, did not alter the structure or the constitution of the Corporation and the interests of listeners and the accepted principles of broadcasting would be safeguarded. In respect to censorship and news, the Corporation is in the same position as the press. In a further answer, the Premier assured Mr Attlee that he realised the need of avoiding the danger of the Corporation becoming subject to bureaucratic control. Clarification of Position Mr Chamberlain, in the House of Commons, said as a result of Lord MacMillan's request for the clarification of his position: " I wish to state that Lord MacMillan’s responsibility for news does not extend beyond the provision of the means of its communication to the press.
