FULL-SCALE ATTACKS GERMANY READY BERLIN, Sept. 28 Germany to-night is reported to be organising a full-scale attack on the Allies by sea and air. Foreign diplomats believe that Hitler, who visited Wilhelmshaven to-day, is ready to attack Britain and France with full force if they reject his “final peace proposals” that may come before the week-end. Competent Nazi sources indicate that the offensive probably will include an intensification of the submarine warfare, an effort to break the blockade, and incessant air attacks on the British Fleet, naval bases, merchant ships and convoys, and important military objectives in Britain and France. Germany hopes to make Britain’s trade with Scandinavia precarious. GERMAN PROPAGANDA CRITICISM OF BRITAIN LONDON, Sept. 29 The Rotterdam correspondent of the Times states that German propaganda presents England as nervous and depressed, faced with a shortage of food and petrol. The Budget is represented as the first shadow of the financial ruin ahead, and Mr Churchill as the chief warmonger, Mr Chamberlain and Viscount Halifax are hardly mentioned. BITTER CONTROVERSY AFRICAN WOOL CLIP LONDON, Sept. 28 The Capetown correspondent of the Times states that Japanese and Amorican buyers took most of the effective offerings at the Cape sales. There was a bitter controversy in the Wool Council as to whether the whole clip should go to Britain, the farmers contending that they would be robbed in that event. AGREEMENT REACHED RUSSIA AND ESTONIA RIGA, Sept. 28 Unofficial reports state that a tenyears’ agreement has been reached between Russia and Estonia, under which the Soviet has been granted naval and air bases at the Estonian Islands of Oesel and Dagoe. PROGRESS OF FIGHTING PARIS, Sept. 28 An official French communique states: A local attack on the part of our troops in the district east of Moselle developed favourably and we took some prisoners. MINISTER DISMISSED ACTION BY SLOVAKIA LONDON, Sept. 28 The Bratislava correspondent of the Times states that the Slovak Prime Minister has announced the dismissal of the Slovak Minister in London because he spoke over the British radio and did not answer a recall demand. RUINS OF POLAND COPENHAGEN, Sept. 28 The Politiken’s special correspondent visited the Russian and German demarcation line and found town after town in ruins. The populations are creeping back to the sheltering debris. The Russians and Germans do not mix. The Germans state that the Red Armies plunder and rob as they advance and massacred a group of the German Labour Corps, mistaking them for Poles.
