COMING=OF-AGE PARTY
MISS H. CHILTON HONOURED A jolly party was held in the Kensington Dance Hall, Matamata, recently, when a number of young people gathered to celebrate the coming-of-age of Miss Hilda Chilton, of Tower Road, Matamata. The hall, which had been artistically decorated with roses and daffodils, intermingled with spring greenery, presented a pleasing appearance. Music was supplied by Miss Nessie Pennell, items being given by the following: Vocal solo, Mr Don Cameron; duet, Misses Hilda Watson and Nessie Pennell: songs, Mr N. Johnston; song, Miss Hilda Watson; song, Miss Dorothy Chilton. The guests were received by Misses Dorothy, Hilda and Thelma Chilton. The guest-of-honour wore an attractive frock of white rain-bow-striped organza. Miss D. Chilton was gowned in spring green and silver lame and Miss Thelma Chilton wore a mauve taffeta frock. Later in the evening the guests made their way to Mr and Mrs H. C. Chilton’s residence, where they were received by Mrs Chilton in a becoming ensemble of bottle green marquisette. Among those present were:—Mesdames R. White, G. G. Bell, D. Cameron, G. G. Griffiths, L. Sutcliffe, Davis, G. Cobb, H. Ford, J. Simpson. Misses Hilda, Dorothy and Thelma Chilton, Mary Dinsdale, Gwyn John- ; ston, Ella Johnston, Gwen HarI greaves, Pat Simpson, Madge Harj ray, Gwen Lewis, Vi Summerville, | Aldyth Carroll, Margaret Loveridge, ! Nessie Pennell, Mona Watson, Hilda j Watson, Twinkie Hunt, Paddy Ryan, ! Bonny Bryce, Lorraine Bryce, Molly I Cole, Olga Loveridge.
